ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Operations & Analysis Lead with insurance industry experience to join our Finance team on a full time permanent basis. This role is vital in ensuring the accuracy of financial operations, timely reconciliations, and the effective management of administrative processes within our insurance structures.

KEY ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain and Prepare Bordereaux Reports: Compile, analyse, and manage bordereaux reports across diverse client accounts and insurance structures. Ensure detailed tracking of premiums, claims, losses, and policy performance. Requires high attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex data sets.
Reconcile Financial Transactions: Perform thorough reconciliations of premiums, claims, and commission payments. Investigate and resolve discrepancies efficiently. Accuracy is critical, as the role involves handling complex transaction flows and manual data processes.
Issue Group-Based Reconciliations: Produce and issue reconciliations for every invoice generated across group entities. Ensure alignment of financial records across different stakeholders and markets in Africa.
Manage Broker Commissions and Statements: Prepare accurate and timely broker commission schedules and financial statements. A focus on Reinsurance structures and compliance is essential.
Coordinate Group Invoicing and Debtors Management: Lead the preparation, issuance, and tracking of group-wide invoices. Monitor debtors and ensure prompt collections across diverse regions.
Prepare and Distribute Partner Meeting Packs: Compile detailed and insightful meeting packs that include financial summaries, invoice breakdowns, variance analysis, and exception reports. Present information clearly for decision-making stakeholders.
Support Period-End Financial Close and Reporting: Drive and support month-end and year-end close processes. Prepare consolidated financial reports, ensure completeness of data, and support audit documentation. Ability to work independently and under pressure is essential.
Liaise with Internal and External Stakeholders: Act as the finance liaison across departments and with partners across Africa. Navigate stakeholder concerns with maturity, professionalism, and clear communication.
Maintain Accurate Financial Records and Ensure Compliance: Ensure all records are updated, audit-ready, and in compliance with regulatory and internal policy standards. Attention to detail is non-negotiable.
Drive Operational Efficiency and Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify and implement process improvements in financial operations and administration. Leverage analytical skills to streamline manual processes and enhance reporting integrity.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA/ACCA/CIMA) or experienced Financial/Management Accountant
Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a complex finance environment, preferably insurance or reinsurance
Strong stakeholder management experience across multi-country contexts, particularly in Africa
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Comfortable working in highly manual and detail-intensive environments
Proficient in Excel and financial reporting tools
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated maturity, reliability, and integrity
