Malini Gyanichand

FOCUSED ON MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Malini Gyanichand may have had dreams of becoming a specialist paediatrician when she was younger, but boy are we glad that her passion for numbers has brought us such a talented and capable new Group Finance Manager.

Malini is a qualified Chartered Accountant with a wealth of experience behind her name. She spent a large part of her career in KwaZulu-Natal, where she grew up, working as a Financial Accountant for Eskom Holdings, before moving up to Johannesburg to further her career as a Senior Specialist Accounting and Finance for Multichoice and Financial Manager for the SKF Group.

Her bubbly personality and passion for both people and processes make her a perfect fit at The Unisure Group, not to mention her enthusiasm for working in the insurance industry.

“I love that my career has allowed me insight into such a diverse range of industries,” she says, “but because I actually always wanted to work in healthcare, this role at Unisure provides me with the perfect platform to make a difference in people’s lives.”

“I’m eager to learn the ins and outs of the insurance industry, and, looking at Unisure’s impressive range of health and life insurance solutions, I’m excited to see where this journey will take me.”

Malini’s day-to-day duties include statutory reporting and compliance with regards to bookkeeping, audits, and tax reporting, as well as financial planning, analysis and management of the company’s cash flow. She’s also responsible for the investment of available resources and for supporting Unisure in turning big ideas into sustainable business models. In the long term, she says she’s looking forward to providing strategic guidance to all areas of the company and engaging with different teams to learn more about what they need to grow and develop.

Thank you for your passion, expertise and warm personality, Malini. We know that The Unisure Group’s finances are in good hands under your watchful eye.
